2014 Championship U19

2014 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP U19 WINNERS (FRANCE, NETHERLANDS & GREAT BRITAIN)

It is already a tradition to hold the European Championship U19 in a beautiful location - Château de Chantilly – the Grand castle on a 284-acre estate with landscaped gardens & stables hosting regular horse shows. This year the competition took place on 26-27 September 2014.

The European Championship U19 is where the stars of tomorrow are born. Youths are fighting for the right to become the best of the best among the young players under 19 years old!

This year 8 National Federations were lucky to represent the U19 National teams for the European Championship. They were; Norway, Great Britain, France, Russia, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Greece! Unfortunately, this year a German team was not represented.

Teams played the Olympic system, with qualification games in 4 groups.

While France, Great Britain and Norway, as expected, easily took their places in Semis, Netherlands maintained their role as the surprise team byknocking out Russia in the qualification games. They were sensational on the final day of competition, winning the Semis against Norway (3:0) and getting to the Finals!

The Semifinal game of France versus Great Britain, wowed the crowd with a series of exciting moments, but France took the advantage and conquered the British with a 4:3 win.

To the delight of their home crowd, the French U19 National team conquered the Netherlands 4:0 to claim their first ever U19 European Champions title! By finishing second, Netherlands reached the podium for the first time in their history! Great Britain claimed the last step on the podium after fending off Norway to complete a 4:3 success in the Third-Place Game.

In the Classification Games, Russia held off Poland 4:0 for fifth place, Belgium came in seventh with automatic points, because of the Greek no show.

We would like to congratulate all the participants, the National Teams and all the National Federations that were involved in the organization. Thanks must go to the Euroref guys for all their hard work, and those who helped to produce the very best paintball atmospheres – the spectators!
